Early Years Curriculum

The curriculum is the same for both Morning and Afternoon sessions. The children participate in a wide variety of child and adult-led activities and play experiences which encourage them to explore, experiment and develop at their own pace.

We have a strong emphasis on laying on activities that promote the 3 R’s……pre-reading, pre-writing and simple arithmetic. As with all our Nursery EYFS curriculum subjects, these are taught in small groups as well as on a one-to-one basis, enabling us to cater to each individual child’s needs. (The alphabet is taught phonetically.)

We also offer a wide range of activities to promote all areas of child development which in turn supports the Early Years Foundation Stage such as: Music & Movement, Information & Computing Technology (ICT), Nature Study & Garden to Fork, Art & Craft, Cooking, Sand & Water Play, Imaginary Play, Dressing Up, Simple Geography/History and Looking at the World Around Us, as well as projects on relevant topics. Weather permitting, the children engage in daily outdoor play in the nursery garden.

Time / Sessions:
Morning School: 9.00 - 11.50 am for 12 noon closure
Afternoon School: 1.00 - 3.50 pm for 4.00 pm closure

“Two of our little ones have been or are at Miss Delaney’s and our baby was signed up the day she was born!  The kids love it there – great environment, lovely building and excellent care.  Thank you Miss D’s for introducing our kids to school and making them love it!”

"These buzzy, busy pupils are educated in 'garden to fork' via planting beds. The outside space is substantial. It's a proudly British institution. Expect a 'strong emphasis' on the three Rs, as well as on Ps and Qs."
