Independent, traditional nursery school in W11

Miss Delaney’s opened in 1996 in St James’s Gardens, Holland Park, London W11. Five years later we opened our sister school ‘Miss Delaney’s Too’ also in W11. We are a local independent Nursery School for children between the ages of 2 to 5 years.  Some twenty years later we have merged both our small schools into a beautiful detached house situated at the entrance of Avondale Park W11, very close to Clarendon Cross.  It has been purposefully refurbished specifically to meet the needs of the young children and has its own private, secure garden.
Our main aim in school is to provide a happy, calm, secure, stimulating environment in which the children can develop at their own pace under the guidance of our PGCE/QTS/NNEB/MONTESSORI and NVQ members of staff.
The children attend either morning or afternoon school and classes are divided into two ‘year groups’. We have two Duckling classes on the ground floor for children between the ages of 2-3 years and three Duck classes situated on the first floor for our children between 3 to rising 5 years of age.

Our Principal, Miss Delaney

Our Headteacher, Mrs Murray

"I firmly believe that the individual child’s early learning should be a happy, exciting process, making that ‘first bridge’ between home and school a natural progression.  The child’s natural desire to learn and explore is at the heart of our operations – indeed, we positively encourage our children to develop their curiosity through creative work and play, to be kind and helpful, and to learn to share and work alongside their peers.  All these skills are designed to prepare our children for joining mainstream school at a later date."

If you would like more information, or wish to request a Nursery prospectus, please contact our School Secretary, Mrs Clare Frost, on 0207 603 6095.

We look forward to welcoming you to Miss Delaney’s.

"W11 is brimming with very splendid, very oversubscribed nurseries and Miss Delaney's is one of the leaders of the pack. It's old-fashioned in the best possible way. The three Rs are paramount, and a mother describes it as 'quintessentially British'. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful."
